STEM is an acronym for “Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.” A lesson or unit in a STEM class is typically based around finding a solution to real-world problems and tends to emphasize project-based learning. Students will use different materials and computer-assisted designs in attempt to conduct experiments, build models, simulate situations, and complete their projects. The experiments and projects model how real-world engineers and scientists try to improve today’s world. Students will be introduced to skills that are necessary for STEM-related careers that include pharmacy, programming, engineering fields, physician assistants, network communications, finance, risk analysis, athletic training, and even teaching!
